Lovett Bay

Working around our clients’ projects, Richard is restoring the landscape surrounding his heritage property in Pittwater, an hour north of Sydney’s CBD. Over many decades the established gardens at Trincomalee had become overgrown and weed infested, with connections to the surrounding bush diminished.

Working softly with the landscape and endemic planting have been key in restoring a nuanced natural aesthetic. Spotted gums and water surround the property, so the garden rejuvenation has centred on simplifying the landscape to ensure these elements remain the focus.

New stairs and walling hewn from reclaimed sandstone found on the property have helped restore circulation.
Levels have been gently defined, allowing spaces for viewing or just being in the space.
