Castlecrag

Castlecrag is a suburb in Sydney’s north known for its strong connection to the landscape and sensitivity to surrounding bushland. Although now an established suburb, significant remnant mature gums and water views remain.

Within this context, this project saw an extensive renovation of an established property, creating new levels around the front and keeping an existing pool intact. Our client also requested recreational space for a young family, which we created among new planting above the street level.

Local Sydney sandstone laid in a random ashlar style nods to a mid-century-influenced aesthetic. This blends seamlessly with the intelligent new architecture.
The planting scheme combines native, endemic and exotic species, creating a naturalistic style with elements of structure and fluid formality.
